Everyone who meets Tamzin knows her by the energy she brings to a room — warm, genuinely curious about people, and quietly meticulous about the details that make a service feel effortless.

Before co-founding StaffChecks, Tamzin spent four years overseas as an office manager, then moved into public relations back in New Zealand, and later built her own account-management practice. That mix — operations, communications and client care — is the DNA of how StaffChecks runs today.

Outside work you'll find her riding and training her horses, with friends and family, or looking after the lifestyle block she shares with Dan.

Dan has spent his entire working life helping others. He started his career in the New Zealand Police Criminal Investigation Branch, where he discovered a deep passion for investigation work.

In 1979 he became one of New Zealand's first licensed private investigators, and over the following decades founded and ran investigation and security businesses across Australia and New Zealand.

After hearing about a preventable death involving an un-vetted caregiver, Dan and Tamzin decided to look hard at how background checking was being done in New Zealand — and concluded they could do it far better. StaffChecks was born from that conviction.
